H.E. Dr. Amel Karboul is CEO of the Education Outcomes Fund for Africa and the Middle East and a Commissioner on the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity. Challenge oriented, accomplished executive with over 20 years’ experience collaborating with global corporate, non-profit and governmental senior leaders to realize strategic, effective transformational change. Known for dynamic presence, innovative, open and straightforward approach, decisiveness, ability to grasp the “big picture” rapidly, as well as being passionate about nurturing a new generation of responsible leaders and building bridges between the private, public sector and civil society to solve today’s global challenges.

She received a Master’s degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of technology (KIT) in Germany and holds a Doctorate in Coaching and Mentoring from Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom. Dr. Karboul has held leadership roles at numerous organizations including The Maghreb Economic Forum, Mercedes-Benz, DaimlerChrysler and worked in senior consultant roles at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Beratergruppe Neuwaldegg.

Dr. Karboul quickly became known as an award winning executive coach, published author and a trusted advisor for CEO’s of global organizations as well as family owned businesses and entrepreneurs. She has served as a visiting professor at DukeCE, a member of the Global Diplomacy Lab, and an advisory board member of CLP, WTFL and the Global Business Coalition for Education. She was, until February 2015, Minister of Tourism in the Tunisian transition government that was appointed after the successful Quartet negotiations (Nobel Peace prize winners 2015) and nominated as one of 10 leading young African politicians. She recently published her newest book, Coffin Corner, outlining a new leadership culture suited to the complexity and dynamics of the 21st century!
