Haiti, Two Years After: Twenty Best Practices to Help Rebuild the Education System

Jan 11, 2012

Haiti President and Michèle Pierre-LouisOn January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti. WISE responded to the disaster with the creation of the WISE Haiti Task Force, which was announced at the 2010 WISE Summit. The Task Force aims to help in the rebuilding of the country’s education system and to also encourage new and innovative approaches to education.  It is both domestic and international, drawing on the creativity of Haitian society and taking the best from experiences around the world.

The Task Force developed 20 case studies, covering different areas of Haiti’s education system, and presented them at the seminar on “Rebuilding Education in Haiti: Sharing Success Stories and Global Experiences” in Port-au Prince, September 28-29, 2011.

These case studies inspire synergies between existing local initiatives and international best practices. Find the case studies here.
