WISE AWARDSUntil May 31, 2012, applications can be submitted for the 2012 WISE Awards. 

WISE invites project holders in any sector and at any level of education to submit applications which demonstrate the quality and impact of their activities in accordance with the criteria stated in the regulations.

Until March 31, 2012, nominations can be submitted for the 2012 WISE Prize for Education. Nominations are invited from individuals and institutions with a demonstrable commitment to education, such as universities, schools, colleges, teachers’ organizations, research facilities, international organizations, governments, the media and private corporations.

Looking Ahead: New Projects for WISE in 2012

The closing plenary session of the 2011 Summit looked forward to the year ahead. 

The session began with a panel discussion between Mr. Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia, Prof. Dr. Fasli Jalal, former Vice-Minister of National Education of Indonesia, Michele Pierre-Louis, President, Fokal Foundation; former Prime Minister of Haiti; and Sara Buhmaid from Learners’ Voice. 

The panel discussion was followed by a speech from the first WISE Prize Laureate Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Founder and Chairperson, BRAC, Bangladesh.
