WISE Awards 2011: Six Winning Projects Announced Recognizing On-The-Ground Innovations in Education
Doha, Qatar, September 27, 2011: A Jury appointed by The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) has announced the winners of the 2011 WISE Awards – the third round of these awards. The following six projects have been selected under the theme Transforming Education: Innovation, Investment and Inclusion because they are deemed to be efficient, replicable, locally adaptable, measurable and economically sustainable.
WISE Awards 2011 Now open for submissions
Innovative educational projects from all regions of the world and from all educational sectors may now be entered for the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Awards 2011 at
www.wise-qatar.org .The submissions deadline is 31 May 2011.
Jury named for WISE Prize for Education
Five prominent international figures will select the winner of the world’s first major international prize for education.
The WISE Prize for Education was announced by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, at the conclusion of the second World Innovation Summit for Education in Doha, Qatar, in December 2010. The first Laureate will be named at WISE 2011 in November.

Impact and potential of innovative trends highlighted at Global Summit on Education
On the final day of the World Innovation Summit for Education - WISE, over 1,200 international education leaders assessed the innovation opportunities presented for and by education, and explored how best to ensure a positive environment for innovation in all its forms to flourish. They also considered how innovation has impacted on education in recent decades.

The WISE 2010 Summit, which was held in Doha, Qatar, from December 7th to 9th, was today formally concluded by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, following three days of collaborative engagement on the future of education.
Global Summit explores innovative education funding options as solution to economic recovery
The funding challenges facing education systems were examined today at the World Innovation Summit for Education – WISE. With the impact of the international downturn generating widespread concern, over 1,200 delegates attending the global summit discussed how best to address and overcome such difficulties.
