Brenda Erlinger directs program development for DIL, a non-profit organization that provides quality education for students and teachers, especially girls and women in developing areas of Pakistan. With a background in elementary education, ICT in education and international development, she works closely with implementing teams to design innovative approaches that build teacher capacity and enhance student understanding. Ms. Erlinger has provided technical assistance, and secured financial, human and intellectual resources for the USAID-funded project: Strengthening 200 Primary School Teachers’ Content Knowledge of Math and English through Mobile Learning. Under Ms. Erlinger’s direction and with strong organizational support, the team delivered a digital library of 300 lessons viewed by 200 rural teachers via mobile smart phone resulting in significant measurable gains in foundational subject knowledge. Currently Ms. Erlinger is working with the team on plans to scale the mobile learning intervention to reach thousands of direct and tens of thousands of indirect beneficiaries within 2-4 years. Ms. Erlinger holds a M.A in International Development Studies from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and a multiple subject teaching credential in California with qualifications in reading instruction and teaching English learners.
