Al Jawhara Al-Thani is currently a Junior at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Q), majoring in Culture and Politics. Through her study of the dynamics of culture and state building she developed a fascination with the ways in which education informs these processes. She believes that the ability to empower and enable citizens through education is really the best means of building the future of any country. An investment in human capital is one of the most beneficial investments a government can make. Developing ways to make education more accessible, relevant and effective, especially in a time of great technological innovation, is imperative. After completing her undergraduate degree she hopes to study for a graduate degree in Education Policy.
Al Jawhara Al-Thani participated in the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) in 2011 after being selected as one of the 30 Learners in the 2011 Learners’ Voice Program.
