Outcomes
The inaugural 2009 World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) was alive with perceptive dialogue on burning issues, launching new collaborations and support from many of the world’s most influential thought leaders and decision makers to help drive change in education.
From the debates, ten strategic priorities for global education emerged, in addition to two concrete initiatives: a collaboration between the Shefallah Center for Children with Special Needs and the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts to develop interactive learning tools and games for children with autism spectrum disorder; and the creation of an international Institute for Education Leadership.
Above all, the Summit marked the start of the WISE Community, a global platform for collaborative debate and action, bringing education players together to find innovative solutions to the major educational challenges of the 21st century.
“This is a first step in a long journey, but this will be a very rewarding journey.”
