Innovation
The “Innovation” category aimed to identify educational activities that use information and communication technologies and other innovative means to generate new and exciting opportunities for access and delivery of learning content that better enables people to face the diversity of today’s challenges.
The three specific criteria to judge applications under this category were:
1. Access to learning: extent to which the initiative has created new opportunities for access to learning, thereby enabling people who would not otherwise be able to participate in learning activities to do so
2. Innovation in practice: extent to which new information and communication technologies and other innovative means of learning have been incorporated into the initiative
3. Ability to address diversity of challenges: extent to which the activity enables people better to face the diversity of today’s challenges
