26.02.09 - WISE 2009 Forum challenges the future of education
Under the umbrella theme: “Global Education: Working Together for Sustainable Achievements”, the Forum will endeavour to rethink the education challenges of the 21st century.
High calibre debates and Breakout Sessions will offer an ideal platform to address the complex educational challenges that social, economic and technical evolutions will bring such as globalisation or the development of new human-technological capabilities.
The Forum will also allow participants to share new ideas and exploratory visions, best practices and experimental programs… and demonstrate that education will give humanity a reason to believe in the future.
Finally, the Forum will aim to conceive a range of strategies to help design current educational practices: new approaches, multi-stakeholder partnerships, international co-operation… Solutions needed to guarantee that the future of education remains under the educators/students’ control including early initiatives contributing to human development.
The Forum will address the 3 following themes:
Theme 1 – Pluralism
Creating education for respect and understanding, increasing access and equalities in a globalised education.
Theme 2 – Sustainability
Sustaining educational systems through funding, governance, meeting needs, and integration of various educational levels
Theme 3 – Innovation
Facilitating and driving change in content, access, and delivery
Breakout Sessions
The Forum will also allow participants to engage in insightful discussions through Breakout Sessions that will take place over the course of two days (November 16th and 17th, 2009), enabling participants to express themselves on different topics.
Each WISE Breakout Session addresses a major theme focused on an innovation issue, reinforcing the uniqueness of the WISE Forum.
