Ahmed Dewidar is a Senior Education and Quality Assurance Consultant who is currently working with the Canadian International Development Agency as their Senior Education Specialist and Monitor for Egypt program. He is also the Quality Assurance and Assessment Consultant for Higher Education in Saudi Arabia, providing technical assistance and professional development programs in assessment for the country’s most distinguished private and public universities. In 2008, he founded a company for research, assessment and quality assurance for development, named Validity.
Between March 2006 and June 2009, Dr. Dewidar worked as a Senior Education Specialist in the Middle East and North Africa Region at the World Bank. He provided intellectual leadership and technical advice to counterparts by leading operational and analytical work on educational policy and reform in addition to technical assistance on monitoring and evaluation and impact assessment studies for education reforms.
Before March 2006, Dr. Dewidar worked and taught in many universities such as the American University in Cairo, the German University in Cairo, Cairo University, Alexandria University and Beirut Arab University. Throughout his 3 decades of experience, he has conducted research and led testing, evaluation and impact assessment studies in teaching, learning, standards, education reform, human development and quality assurance. He has published and presented papers in Egypt, Germany, England, Canada, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. In addition, he has trained teachers, supervisors, trainers, assessors and university faculty members on effective teaching skills, educational assessment, qualitative and qualitative analyses, quality assurance and impact evaluation. His current projects and research interests are Sustainability, Impact Assessment and Education for Knowledge Economy.
Dr. Dewidar holds a BA and ED from Cairo University (Excellent with Honors), an MA TEFL from the American University in Cairo (With Highest Honors) and a PhD in Testing and Evaluation from Alexandria University (With First Class Honors).
