Steve Moss joined Partnerships for Schools (PfS) as Strategic Director for ICT in April 2005. He has specialist responsibility for Information and Communications Technology in the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme which will rebuild or remodel 3,500 secondary schools in England by 2020 and provide new ICT resources for all these schools.  He leads the work with local authorities, national agencies and the ICT industry to ensure that the ICT solutions procured as part of BSF can have a transformational effect on the processes of learning, teaching and administration in schools.

Prior to joining PfS, Steve was Assistant Chief Education Officer with Manchester City Council (2003-2005), Senior Inspector/Adviser for ICT in Cumbria (1988-2002) and, prior to that, lectured in initial teacher training following a school-based career which culminated in the headship of a school.

Steve has wide-ranging experience of the strategic development of ICT in education and has worked with Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) on local and national inspection and evaluation projects in the UK. He was Chairman of the Board of NAACE, the UK professional association for ICT advisers and consultants, in 1998.

Steve is currently a member of Becta’s National Strategy Group, which oversees educational ICT strategy in England, and is a board member of the 21st Century Learning Alliance and the International Laboratory of Advanced Education Technologies (ILAET). He is also Vice-Chair of Educating for Leadership, a not-for-profit organisation working in schools in Alaska, USA. He has supported schools and educators in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Jordan, Russia, Sweden and UAE.
