Mr. Ezequiel Jimenez

Originally from Salta in the North of Argentina, Ezequiel is a graduate from United World College (UWC). During his time at UWC, Ezequiel trained with the Norwegian Red Cross, led several Model of United Nations activities and began dealing with key human rights issues and their connection to education.

In 2009, Ezequiel was awarded a merit scholarship to attend Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States, as a Kofi Annan Scholar. He graduated in 2013 with a double degree in Political Science and International Studies with a concentration in Human Rights and Humanitarianism. While at Macalester College, Ezequiel held several leadership positions including student government and the co-creation of an award-winning leadership conference for students all around the United States. Moreover, he carried out research on international politics, international criminal law, human rights, education and international public health, including collaborating with the World Health Organization as a research fellow.

Ezequiel has been an active participant in international forums including the Hesselbein Global Leadership Academy at the University of Pittsburgh and the Japanese-based Junior Chamber International’s Peace Conference of Youth. 

Currently, Ezequiel is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Human Rights Policy and Practice as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar (European Commission) at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), Roehampton (UK) and Tromsø (Norway) where he is researching the interaction between human rights, politics and international justice. Moreover, Ezequiel serves as the Assistant Editor for the Argentina-based journal En Letra.
