Dr. Professor Joseph Agyapong Mensah

Joseph Agyapong Mensah is a mid-career academic with over 10 years of teaching experience in institutions of higher education. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Ghana, an MSc in Statistics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, and MSc and BSc degrees in Mathematics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
He is currently a faculty member in the Computer Science and Information Systems Department at Ashesi University, a reputable private university in Ghana whose mission is to educate a new generation of ethical, entrepreneurial leaders in Africa; cultivating the critical thinking skills, concern for others, and courage needed to transform the continent.
Over the years, he has served in several capacities and on various committees within the university and beyond, and is currently the Math Lead for the institution. He has a strong passion for teaching and has taught a variety of Mathematics courses, including College Algebra, Quantitative Methods, Statistics and Probability, and Calculus.
His research interests span higher education, biometric recognition systems, and health-related studies involving non-communicable diseases within Sub-Saharan Africa. He has published in these areas in high-ranking, peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Mensah sees collaboration and mentorship as key drivers of academic progression and is open to new ideas and research partnerships.
