Dr. Anwar Fatihelrahman Ahmed Dafaalla is a computer scientist, technology educator, and community leader based in Doha, Qatar. He earned both a Master’s and PhD in Computer Science from Chungbuk National University in South Korea, specializing in data mining, information security, and privacy.
With more than twenty years of academic and professional experience, Dr. Dafaalla has taught computer science at Alzaiem Alazhari University, the University of Garden City, and collaborated with Sudan University of Science and Technology and several other universities in Khartoum. He later served at King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia and City University College in Qatar, and has partnered with the University of Maryland, Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar, and the United Nations Office on Cybercrime. His research spans data mining, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, resulting in more than twenty peer-reviewed publications and a book available on Amazon. His recent title is AI for a Green Planet: Harnessing Technology for Environmental Sustainability.
He is currently a Senior Certified Trainer in Qatar, an External Consultant for Qatar Foundation’s BilAraby initiative, and an External Consultant for Creativity and Innovation at the Primary Health Care Corporation. He also serves on the Scientific Planning Committee at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar and on the editorial board of the African Journal of Engineering & Technology. Dr. Dafaalla is the founder of the Sudanese Researchers Foundation, president of the Sudanese ICT Professionals Association in Qatar, and a long-standing TEDx organizer and TED Arabic Language Coordinator.
