Senior Project Manager
Benjamin Overton (he/him) is a Senior Project Manager at SEEK Development (Berlin, Germany), a strategy and advocacy consultancy focused on the global development and education sectors. His experience spans more than 10 years in philanthropy, resource mobilization, and impact investing within the non-profit, government, and private sectors. He leads SEEK’s practices in Global Education and Gender Equality, and has worked with partners including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Global Partnership for Education, the International Education Funders Group, the Moving Minds Alliance, and Dubai Cares. His work in the education space has focused on foundational learning, early childhood development, education in emergencies, and the climate-education nexus.
Benjamin has extensive experience helping NGOs, philanthropies, and multilateral organizations define strategic advocacy priorities and develop effective resource mobilization approaches. He has extensive experience analyzing multilateral and bilateral funding flows for education, gender, and global health, and has led the development of SEEK’s knowledge platform for advocates, donortracker.org. He has helped numerous partners diversify their funding streams, explore new funding sources, and develop innovative funding mechanisms.
Benjamin’s previous experience has focused on the intersection of human rights, economic empowerment, and effective development assistance. He previously developed partnerships for Yunus Social Business, the venture philanthropy fund of Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. He has also provided support to NGOs and social enterprises as a Programme Officer at the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Benjamin began his career in resource mobilization for the International Crisis Group and Humanity in Action, a human rights education organization.
