Senior Lecturer

Dr. G. Ayorkor Korsah serves as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Ashesi University, Ghana, where she teaches courses and mentors students in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms.

Her scholarly interests focus on two main areas: strengthening computing education—particularly within the African context—and exploring the application of technology to development-related challenges.

Dr. Korsah is a passionate advocate for women in STEM and for broadening participation in computer science and other technology disciplines. To help strengthen the pipeline of students entering university, she co-created the annual Ashesi Innovation Experience (AIX) with colleagues at Ashesi University. This pre-college enrichment program aims to inspire high school students by engaging them in leadership, design, robotics, engineering, entrepreneurship, and the creative arts.

Dr. Korsah holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Dartmouth College (USA) and a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University (USA).
