Dr. Carine Allaf

Senior Director of Research
Dr. Carine Allaf has over 20 years of experience working across multiple countries. She is currently the Senior Director of Research at QFI, where she oversees the organization’s research department and activities. Her goal for QFI’s research is to close the gap between academic research and classroom practice. Prior to joining QFI, Carine worked in the international education, humanitarian, and development field as a lecturer at Teachers College, Columbia University, and with organizations such as Save the Children (in Iraq), UNICEF (in Jordan and Sudan), and the INEE (in Qatar and Sri Lanka).
Carine began her career as an elementary school teacher in New York City, Philadelphia, and Beirut. She earned a BA from Lehigh University, a Master’s in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a PhD in International Comparative Education from UCLA.
