Dr. Christos Kypraios

Leading The Oxford Crisis Education Program

Dr. Christos Kypraios is the Lead Project Officer at Oxford Lifelong Learning (Department for Continuing Education, University of Oxford). In this role, he coordinates the development and delivery of high-quality online educational resources for crisis-impacted students through the Oxford Crisis Education (OxCRED) initiative, which supports learners whose higher-education pathways have been disrupted by conflict and displacement. Dr. Kypraios collaborates with colleagues at Oxford, higher-education institutions in Palestine, and external partners to build a sustainable, adaptable model for crisis-responsive education that can be expanded to other conflict-affected regions. He is also an Academic Affiliate at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Oxford Law Faculty, and a Senior Common Room member at Mansfield College, Oxford.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Kypraios spent six years at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg as a Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow, and five years at the Bonavero Institute in senior managerial roles. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Athens, an LL.M. in International Law from the University of Nottingham, an M.A. in International Relations from Istanbul Bilgi University and Sciences Po Paris, an M.A. in History from Istanbul Bilgi University, and a PhD in Law from the University of Basel.

Dr. Kypraios’s interdisciplinary academic background and leadership in higher education and online learning equip him to shape innovative responses to educational disruption in crisis settings, supported by his long-standing expertise in research, programme and project management, and international partnership within global and humanitarian education.
