Francesco Branca, MD, PhD, is an Invited Professor at the Institute of Global Health, University of Geneva.

He previously served as Director of the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety at the World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva. Earlier in his career, he was a Scientist at the Italian Food and Nutrition Research Institute, a Lecturer at the University of Rome La Sapienza and Tor Vergata, and an Adjunct Professor at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University.

Francesco graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Diabetology and Metabolic Diseases at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome. He also obtained an MSc in Nutrition and a PhD from the University of Aberdeen.
