Gaurav Gupta

Gaurav is the Global Managing Partner of Dalberg Advisors. In this role, he defines the firm’s strategic direction and oversees activities across offices worldwide. He is the former Regional Director for Asia Pacific and previously led Dalberg’s global Impact Measurement and Climate & Energy practices.

Gaurav founded Dalberg’s first office in the Asia Pacific region in Mumbai in 2009 and led the firm’s growth in the region through 2022—expanding to seven offices with more than 160 team members. He advises a broad range of institutions on measuring and scaling their impact and has extensive experience leading projects across multiple sectors, including energy access, financial inclusion, education access, and inclusive business strategies.

Beyond his advisory work, Gaurav also works directly with climate- and sustainability-focused start-ups and has supported companies developing personal carbon tracking solutions in the USA and satellite-based pollution tracking systems in India. He also serves on the Board of Educate Girls—one of India’s largest NGOs dedicated to girls’ education and empowerment.

Before joining Dalberg, Gaurav was a Project Leader with the Boston Consulting Group in Sydney and London. He holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University and a postgraduate degree in Development Economics from Yale University. He was also a Fairfax Scholar at the United World College of Hong Kong.
