Gigi Wang is an Industry Fellow and Faculty at the UC Berkeley Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship, where she teaches the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship bootcamp and lectures in executive classes. She is also the Managing Partner at MG-Team, which delivers entrepreneurship and innovation programs.
Gigi has taught innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. She coaches and mentors dozens of start-ups from around the world. MG-Team’s global clients have included MasterCard Innovation, University of Doha for Science & Technology (UDST), accent (CERN incubator in Austria), QRDI (Qatar via AlchemistX), Sunway University (Malaysia), University of Exeter (UK), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Hong Kong Cyberport (government incubator), SRI International (innovation facilitator), and several global incubators.
Before founding MG-Team, Ms. Wang was on the founding teams of several tech start-ups. As an internet pioneer in the 1990s, she launched Pacific Internet in Singapore (IPO on NASDAQ in 1999), introduced the internationally renowned TRUSTe (now TrustArc) internet privacy program, and has been on the founding team of or an advisor to several tech start-ups.
Gigi holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, where she was President of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. She is a frequent speaker at entrepreneurship and innovation conferences around the world, including WISE Qatar (leading global educational conference), the Asian Leadership Conference (Korea), IT Arena (Ukraine), and corporate conferences.
