Hamad Al Jaber
Qatar Charity
Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
Hamad AlJaber is deeply committed to humanitarian and development work, with a career shaped by a passion for helping communities thrive. As the Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) at Qatar Charity, he oversees systems and practices that support projects in nearly 70 countries through more than 35 field offices. His work focuses on ensuring that humanitarian and development efforts are evidence-based, community-driven, and aligned with global standards such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the OECD-DAC criteria.
Throughout his career, Hamad has been dedicated to building organizational capacities that ensure programs deliver measurable change. He has introduced frameworks that improve decision-making, streamline reporting, and create stronger feedback loops between beneficiaries, field teams, and donors. A key initiative he has championed is the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) best practices—adapting tools from the business sector for NGO operations. This approach has enhanced monitoring, improved planning, increased transparency, and reinforced donor trust, making humanitarian programming more accountable and responsive.
Hamad’s academic background combines engineering and management, with degrees from the University of Exeter and HEC Paris. This multidisciplinary foundation allows him to merge technical expertise with strategic vision and a people-centered approach.
At the heart of his work is the belief that humanitarian action should go beyond responding to emergencies. For Hamad, the true measure of impact lies in empowering individuals and communities with the resources, knowledge, and opportunities required to build resilience and shape sustainable futures.
