Haya A. Al-Thani is a Research Fellow at Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) in the Arabic Language Technologies (ALT) group. Established in 2012, the ALT group is a pioneer in advancing Arabic natural language processing and in developing intelligent, AI-driven solutions that enhance the representation and processing of the Arabic language and culture.
She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, specializing in conversational search and evaluation, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Qatar University, focused on market manipulation detection.
Previously, she worked as a Research Analyst at Qatar Biobank and in QCRI’s Scientific Computing Team, where she focused on biological data analysis and visualization.
Dr. Al-Thani’s current research centers on AI in education, with a focus on leveraging large language models to support Arabic language learning, content generation, and automated assessment.
