Luisa Romero is an engineer, peacebuilder, and activist with nine years of experience in the non-profit sector. She is the co-founder of a youth-led organization that advances peacebuilding in Colombia by empowering communities most affected by civil conflict, particularly youth and women. Her work and commitment to human rights, peacebuilding, and leadership have earned her recognition from numerous programs and awards, including the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI, 2017) by the U.S. Department of State, the RECON Award for Best Social Initiative in Peacebuilding and Human Rights (2018), the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) Young Peacebuilders program with the Dalai Lama, and the AFS Prize for Young Active Citizens (Global Winner, 2019). She is also a recipient of the Chevening Award by the U.K. Government.

Luisa is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Oxford and serves as a member of the Youth Advisory Board of the OHCHR–EAA.
