Principle

Mohammed Al-Shaabi is the Principal of Academyati, Qatar Foundation’s first progressive school, where he leads innovative practices in personalized and project-based learning. His leadership focuses on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and values-driven education that empowers students to become compassionate, confident, and future-ready individuals.

Mohammed began his professional career as a process engineer, holding a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, before transitioning into the education sector, where his passion for learning, leadership, and innovation flourished. He has since played a key role in developing experiential learning, advancing school partnerships, and integrating Islamic and Qatari values into modern educational practices.

Prior to leading Academyati, he served as a program manager at Teach for Qatar, training and mentoring educators nationwide, and later as a partnership manager at Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education Division, where he established strategic collaborations with organizations such as Qatar Charity, Seashore, and Al Shaqab.

A graduate of the Qatar Leadership Center’s Executive Leadership Program, Mohammed has also completed advanced training with HEC Paris, Duke University, and the University of Cambridge. His work reflects a deep commitment to reimagining education through innovation, purpose, and cultural authenticity.
