Nyansapo AI
CEO
Mumbe Mwangangi is a passionate social innovator and the Co-Founder and CEO of Nyansapo AI, an organization harnessing the power of artificial intelligence-powered assessments to double the foundational literacy and numeracy of 2,000,000 children in Africa by 2030. Under her leadership, Nyansapo AI has designed inclusive assessment tools that have provided thousands of children with immediate reading and math feedback, equipped teachers with real-time insights, and supported governments and NGOs with actionable learning data. Her mission is clear: to ensure that every child—regardless of background—builds a love for learning and gains the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to participate fully in society.
Mumbe’s work is rooted in the African philosophy of Ubuntu—“I am because we are”—which informs her approach to education, innovation, and community-driven impact. She is continually exploring opportunities to scale solutions, collaborate with changemakers, and reimagine how AI can drive social good across the continent.
In addition to her leadership at Nyansapo AI, Mumbe is currently a PhD candidate in disaster management and sustainable development. Her academic research and professional work intersect at the nexus of access to education, vulnerability, and the role of emerging technologies—particularly AI—in building more equitable and resilient systems.
With a strong background in international relations, information technology, policy implementation, and grassroots engagement, Mumbe brings both strategic vision and lived experience to the table, championing African-led innovation for a brighter educational future.
