Mustafa Said is a musician, composer, musicologist, oud virtuoso, and singer. He is currently Head of Research at the Vice Chair Office of Qatar Foundation. Mustafa founded the Asil Ensemble for Contemporary Arabic Classical Music in 2003. He has many published albums with Asil and as a solo artist.

His books and research on rereading manuscripts, audio archiving, and music education have been published in Arabic and English, and translated into other languages. His work has been recognized with several international music and book awards.
