Nour Tabet
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar
Outreach Manager for Computer Science
Nour Elhouda Tabet is the co-founder and team lead of two flagship initiatives at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q): The Mindcraft Project, the university’s leading computer science education program, and The Lifelines Platform, a student-powered hub for humanitarian innovation. Since its launch in 2016, Mindcraft has empowered over 19,000 students from more than 50 schools across Qatar, redefining computer science as a tool not only for coding but for solving real-world challenges with creativity, purpose, and impact.
Through Mindcraft, Nour leads a suite of programs—including national competitions, introductory workshops, in-depth camps, and on-demand collaborations—each blending hands-on learning with interdisciplinary challenges. These experiences empower students to explore AI, data science, and digital storytelling while developing solutions in areas such as education, sustainability, public health, and humanitarian response. Signature events like the Qatar Collegiate Programming Contest, Lifelines Hackathon, and Alice Programming Competition have been recognized for their role in advancing tech literacy among youth.
In her role as Outreach Manager for Computer Science at CMU-Q, Nour designs and delivers project-based curricula that emphasize ethical innovation, computational thinking, and community engagement. With a master’s degree in cybersecurity from Hamad Bin Khalifa University and a bachelor’s degree in information and communication technology from the International University of Malaysia, she brings deep expertise in systems analysis, educational design, and team leadership.
Nour’s mission is to inspire students to see computer science as a superpower for good—bridging education, technology, and social impact to build a more inclusive digital future.
