Manuela Fernández Pinto is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Universidad de los Andes (Colombia). She earned her PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Notre Dame in 2014, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Helsinki in 2015.
 
Her research examines the manufacture of doubt in commercially driven science, with a focus on the consequences of commercial interests in clinical trials, the erosion of trust in science, and the impact of commercial research on women and other historically underrepresented groups. Her work bridges several areas within the philosophy of science, including social epistemology, the science and values debate, research ethics, and feminist philosophy of science.
 
Since 2024, she serves as the PI of Uniandes research team for WISE’s AI and Higher Education Research Consortium.
