Prior to being appointed Director-General of ICESCO, Dr. AlMalik was Advisor and General Supervisor for International Affairs at the Ministry of Education (MOE), Advisor on Health Affairs to the Minister of Education in Saudi Arabia, and Secretary-General of the Saudi National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture.
He also headed the knowledge-based industries sector at the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), where he led the development of its knowledge-based industry strategy and subsequently attracted key new investments to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Before that, he served as Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services for the Central Region and Consultant in Allergy and Immunology at the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs (King Abdulaziz Medical City), during which he developed innovative methods and strategies for healthcare through resource utilization and cost containment.
Moreover, Dr. AlMalik is an outstanding expert in building strategic partnerships, working with international organizations, and developing national education, culture, and health initiatives. He also worked as a part-time assistant professor at Al Faisal University and was actively involved in numerous charity events supporting social, humanitarian, and voluntary initiatives.
