Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Ghana on the Sustainable Development Goals

Dr. Eugene Owusu was appointed Special Advisor to the President on the SDGs in August 2017. Previously he served as UN Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General in South Sudan. Eugene also served as the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to South Sudan. Owusu also served as UN Resident Coordinator, UN Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Ethiopia. He was also a Senior Advisor in the UN/UNDP Brussels Office. Eugene served several capacities in the African region, including Economic Advisor in UNDP Uganda, Economic Advisor in UNDP Sierra Leone, and Deputy Resident Representative in UNDP Tanzania.
