Next WISE Happening in Doha to Focus on Entrepreneurial Skills
The World Innovation Summit for Education has launched a monthly event series called WISE Happenings, featuring education-related activities aimed at bringing the local community together.
The next WISE Happening, organized in collaboration with the Doha-based Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, will take place Sunday, 12 April 2015 at the Hamad bin Khalifa University Student Center. The event features a workshop entitled “Bigger and Better” intended to teach key entrepreneurial skills to selected students from HBKU and partner universities.
The students will form teams of three to five, and will be presented with a simple product or concept which they will “trade” and develop into something of greater value. The teams will post their trades on social media, using photos to document their work. Throughout the workshop, students will learn various key entrepreneurial skills such as teamwork and collaboration, negotiation, sales and marketing, pitching and most importantly, creating value. At the end of the event, winners will be selected according to three pre-defined measures: numbers of trades, the value of the final item, and overall social value created.
The workshop will start at 5:00 PM in Conference Room 5 of the HBKU Student Center, and will include 40 selected participants. Registration is available through this link: http://goo.gl/forms/bnsegtXwWR
