Hailing from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Chile, Denmark, India and the United States of America, the 2012 WISE Awards winning initiatives were selected by a Jury of leading education experts following a pre-selection of 24 finalists. The winning projects were selected for their tangible, positive impact upon society and their innovative approach to solving important global problems.

All six 2012 winning projects representatives participated in the annual WISE Summit, November 13 - 15, Doha, Qatar. During the three day event, they took part in different sessions, networking activities and presented their winning initiatives on the WISE Initiatives stage. They were also celebrated at the WISE Awards Ceremony during the Gala Dinner on Day 2 of the Summit.

In addition, and for the very first time, the 2012 WISE Awards winning project representatives met with other winning project representatives from previous years present at WISE 2012. During a dedicated working session, this community of innovators were given the opportunity to explore and exchange ideas on the theme "Collaborating for Change" and on ways of working together in the future.
