Fahad Hamad Hassan Al-Sulaiti

Director-General, Qatar Fund for Development


Fahad Hamad Hassan Al-Sulaiti is the Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), the State of Qatar’s international development agency. Under his leadership, QFFD advances innovative financing tools – including grants, concessional loans, guarantees, and investments – to address global challenges in education, health, and economic development, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. A strong advocate of multi-stakeholder collaboration, Mr. Al-Sulaiti works closely with governments, international organizations, NGOs, and the private sector to promote sustainable, inclusive development that fosters peace and prosperity. \

Prior to his current role, he served as QFFD’s Chief Executive Officer, where he helped establish the organization’s governance, strategy, and global partnerships since its inception in 2012. Under his leadership, QFFD has supported impactful education projects in over 60 countries, mobilizing more than USD 3 billion in funding and partnering with over 100 entities, including UN agencies and global development banks. 

Mr. Al-Sulaiti previously held leadership roles at Education Above All Foundation and Qatar Foundation, and began his career in international banking with Qatar National Bank. He holds a BSc in Business Administration and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris in Qatar. He also chaired the board of an international organization based in the United Kingdom, contributing to global resource mobilization and project development.
