Junior Student of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Q), Junior Student of Studio Schools Trust

Qatar

Al Jawhara graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Q), majoring in Culture and Politics. Through her study of the dynamics of culture and state building she developed a fascination with the ways in which education informs these processes. She believes that the ability to empower citizens through education is the best means of building the future of any country. Investment in human capital is one of the most beneficial actions a government can take. Developing ways to make education more accessible, relevant and effective, especially in a time of great technological innovation, is imperative. After completing her undergraduate degree she hopes to study for a graduate degree in Education Policy.

As a representative of Learners’ Voice, Al Jawhara was a speaker at the 2011 WISE Summit and participated in the World Literacy Summit in Oxford, United Kingdom, on April 1-4, 2012.
