Juan Manuel Restrepo is the Director of Education and Culture of Comfama, a social enterprise in Colombia that impacts more than 3 million people every year. He also leads Cosmo Schools, a movement to transform the education system through a network of high quality and accessible schools. He is creator of multiple NGOs and citizen-led movements in urban sustainability, education advocacy and social entrepreneurship. He has a PhD in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Hong Kong, a master’s degree in Governing the Large Metropolis from SciencesPo, France and a master’s in management from the Neoma Business School, France. His research interests lie on the areas of collective governance, scaling-up education, and sustainability. He has published articles for the Stanford Social Innovation Review and Policy & Politics. He is an Echoing Green Fellow.
