On November 14 – 19 2019, we celebrated education and learning at Doha Learning Days!
 
During six days, we have hosted an experiential festival in Education City’s Ceremonial Court and Green-Spine. In collaboration with over 57 local organizations and innovators, we offered a range of activities for you to get involved in, coding labs, and a wellness masterclass.

18-19 NOV - QCRI

As part of Doha Learning Days, QCRI has hosted a number of interactive workshops and engaging workshops specifically for young learners

 

14-19 NOV - GOCODE

Throughout DLD, GoCode has hosted a number of different workshops for all ages that explored coding and AI technology

 

14-19 NOV - MOLECULAR DOHA

With Molecular Doha, visitors of all ages have been invited to explore science in a new and interactive way with their sessions – The Story of Sound and Nutritional Chef

 

14-19 NOV - IBTECHAR

With ibTECHar, visitors were invited to take part in a number of ‘tinkering’ workshops that combined science and creativity in a new and exciting way

 

14-18 NOV - MICRO:BIT

Micro:Bit has hosted a number of workshops focused on technology and sustainability

 

16 NOV - QEERI

As part of DLD’s focus on sustainability, QEERI has hosted a number of sessions exploring the connection between modern sustainability and technology

 

16-18 NOV - EIDOS

With EIDOS, visitors of all ages were invited to explore questions linked to the modern technological age through interactive workshops and activities

 

14-16 NOV - FABLAB

FabLab has hosted a number of sessions that introduced participants to STEM through interactive workshops

 

15-16 NOV - GEEK EXPRESS

With Geek Express, students have been challenged to code, build and design. Working together, students have been able to make machines that they have designed themselves and put them into action!

 

14-19 NOV - BRAIN EDUCATION MIDDLE EAST

BEME has hosted a number of workshops that focused on mental wellbeing, cognitive ability and the body

 

15 NOV - DANIEL MATALLANA

With Daniel Matallana, visitors were invited to take part in meditation and personal development sessions that aimed to help you connect with a deeper sense of self 

 

15-18 NOV -YAMA YOGA

Yama Yoga has hosted a number of different sessions around wellbeing, meditation and yoga throughout the festival

 

16-18 NOV - SWASTHI YOGA WITH VISHNU

Doha’s Swasthi Yoga has offered a number of sessions around yoga and meditation that promised to help visitors with stress and anxiety

 

14-17 NOV - GENERATION AMAZING

Generation Amazing has hosted a number of football activities based in the Green Spine

 

 

14-19 NOV - BEDAYA

Bedaya has hosted a number of sessions that developed soft skills around entrepreneurialism and leadership 

 

14 & 19 NOV - QATAR DEBATE

Visitors were invited to take part in Qatar Debate’s public debate sessions, exploring themes around community identity and global citizenship in the 21st century

 

14, 16, 18 NOV - EDUCATION ABOVE ALL

Interested in community development? Do you see yourself as an activist with new ideas on how to change the world? Visitors had the opportunity to visit EAA and discover how to become part of their ongoing youth advocacy program

 

 

15-19 NOV - QATAR LEADERSHIP CENTRE

Students from QLC has hosted a number of workshops and debates 

 

16-17 NOV (RSVP) - FRAME SPECIALTY COFFEE

Founder of Frame Specialty Coffee, Abdulrahman Al-Malki, has hosted a number of sessions  that explored modern coffee culture and what it takes to create a successful neighborhood business

 

14-19 NOV - TORBA MARKET

In addition to launching their annual market, Torba has run a number of interactive workshops around modern sustainability techniques

 

16 NOV (RSVP) - COLLEGE & CAREER PREP WITH QAST

Qatar Academy STEM has hosted a session on Saturday 16 that aims to provide insight into the college application process both here and abroad – great for students and families

 

16 NOV - YOUNG WRITERS PROGRAM

This year, the Young Writer’s Program has hosted their Open Mic Night at QNL as part of Doha Learning Days

 

15 NOV - RESIDENTS LIFE

Students from across Education City have hosted a number of activities that explore sustainability, community development, and soft skill development

 

16 & 18 NOV (RSVP) - PLAY MEETUP - Play LEGO with Strangers

LEGO Serious Play explored mental health, family wellbeing, and relationships all through the medium of LEGO

 

14-19 NOV - QATAR READS

Qatar Reads have hosted the Library of Wonders, an interactive maze that takes young learners on a fact-finding adventure

 

 

14-19 NOV - PHONE ART QATAR

Throughout DLD, PA Qatar has hosted an exclusive photography exhibition. This has also been used to engage participants in a number of workshops and discussions around modern photography and art

 

14-15 NOV (RSVP) - WORDS AND STRING

As part of the opening night, Words & Strings has hosted a music and poetry workshop that promises to be a unique and engaging experience

 

16-17 NOV - QATAR UNIVERSITY

Qatar University’s College of Law has hosted an exhibition throughout the festival that presents female leaders and changemakers

 

14-16 NOV - DRUMMING QATAR

In this workshop, Drumming Qatar took participants through a journey of rhythm and harmony with their percussion orchestra

 

14-19 NOV - PALLAS ARTS

In collaboration with Pallas Arts, Doha Learning Days has been working with local and international artists to facilitate ongoing art workshops and discussions

 

16 NOV - VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY QATAR

In this session, experts from VCU demonstrated how modern educational spaces can empower children and learns to be more active members in their educational journey

 

15-16 NOV - MADA

On Saturday 16 November, MADA has hosted coding literacy sessions aimed at students with special needs and their families

 

19 NOV - COFFEE WITH FAMILY HOPE & CO.

As part of our focus on inclusivity, Family Hope, alongside other experts in special needs and accessibility has answered questions during this informal coffee afternoon session

 

17 NOV (RSVP) - RENAD PARENT TASTER

One of our key partners focused on inclusion, Renad Academy has hosted a free taster session for parents looking for guidance around children with Autism and how to best serve their needs both in and out of the home

 

16 NOV - BEST BUDDIES X BRAIN EDUCATION MIDDLE EAST

A co-curated activity between Best Buddies & Brain Education, this session helped SEN students develop and enhance brain functions and their overall wellbeing through body movement. Benefits included improved awareness, concentration and emotional balance

 

 

17 NOV - QATAR ACADEMY STEM FEMALE EMPOWERMENT TALKS

As part of our Girl’s Empowerment Day, Qatar Academy STEM has been featuring their students in a series of female empowerment talks exploring themes related to leadership and innovation

 

17 NOV - GIRLS’ EMPOWERMENT DAY: SPEED MENTORING

For our female students, Doha Learning Days has invited selected groups to take part in a speed mentoring session with female leaders, entrepreneurs and changemakers from the local community

 

17-18 NOV - EXXONMOBIL: STEM SPEAKER SERIES & GIRLS IN ENGINEERING

ExxonMobil has hosted a number of sessions and speakers events during our Girl’s Empowerment Day, specifically focusing on women in Science, Technology and Engineering

 

19 NOV - QATAR LEADERSHIP CENTRE: GLOBAL IMPACT AWARDS

QLC presented narratives that explore how they have been able to develop leadership skills and global citizenship, the aim of this session was to inspire other female students to take part in a program that prepares them to be future leaders

 

19 NOV - JASON SILVA

Futurist and philosopher Jason Silva spoke at Doha Learning Days

 

15 NOV - DOHA FILM INSTITUTE

On Friday 15 November, DFI has screened two of their films on the main stage of the festival

 

19 NOV - STEPHEN RITZ

Renowned educator and sustainability expert, Stephen Ritz, has hosted a talk on what it takes to be sustainable and green in a modern city like Doha
