Abdalla Abdalla is a senior Mechanical Engineering student at Texas A&M University at Qatar. He is from Oman but has been living in Qatar for the past 3 years.

Abdalla finished his schooling in Oman at the Pakistan School Muscat where in addition to getting his A Level degree, he also learnt the Urdu language. He believes that Urdu has helped him a lot in his life since he has been able to communicate with the large community of Indians and Pakistanis in the country.

Abdalla is involved in his community and is always striving to become a leader. In his freshmen year at Texas A&M at Qatar, he was elected as his class representative in the student government. In his junior year, he served as the student body president.

Abdalla is also involved in several community service projects at Education City in Doha. In August 2010, he led a large campaign to raise funds for the victims of the floods in Pakistan. The team was able to raise more than QR 75,000. In October 2010, he helped in raising another QR 35,000 for the same cause.

Abdalla is currently serving as the leader of the student team developing myeducationcity.com , a website with the purpose of connecting all students in Education City. The website will feature blogs and articles about events and happenings at Education City. Currently, the website is undergoing a design makeover and will be online in February 2011.

When not studying, Abdalla spends most of his time on the Internet and on social media websites. He loves the interactions and connections that are built through these social media websites. He is addicted to Twitter and Facebook.
