Akua Ampah is a Career Services professional passionate about supporting students and young graduates with their career development. She is a graduate of Ashesi University and has about seven (7) years of working experience with the last five years in higher education supporting students transition smoothly to the world of work.

Her experiences in the Education space and her love to impact lives and help young people succeed in their careers drove her to start her own blog, ‘Virtual Career Office, where she creates content on career advising. Through this initiative, she has been invited to several speaking engagements, conducted various career focused workshops, interview preparation and coaching sessions, amongst others.

She works primarily as a Career Development Advisor at Ashesi University. In her role, Akua assists students through employability skills training, career coaching and connecting them to internships and job opportunities. She also supervises experiential learning programs and outcomes run by the Career Services Office, that ensure students explore various platforms to enable them to make informed decisions concerning their careers. These include the University’s Career Mentoring and Job Shadowing programs.

Prior to joining Ashesi University, she worked in the Career Office of Lancaster University Ghana where she revamped the office by creating more career opportunities for the students. At Lancaster, she planned and organized the university’s maiden Career Fair which hosted top companies. She also successfully coordinated and secured practicum sites in Ghana for Public Health exchange students from Lancaster UK and Boston University, USA.
