A serial entrepreneur, Harjiv believes in harnessing the confluence of media, technology and education to empower individuals.  At Salwan Media he has launched a portfolio of education-focused businesses that include BrainGain Magazine  the largest online magazine for study abroad in India and South Asia – and the annual “One Globe: Uniting Knowledge Communities” conference which focuses on what it takes to build a 21st-century knowledge economy in India and broader South Asia.

Harjiv has co-founded several companies including Gutenberg Communications, a global strategic PR and Communications firm, and MDOffices.com, a healthcare software company. He has worked in various roles in finance, marketing and strategy at GE Capital, a New York City hedge fund, and Priceline.

An avid political junkie, he worked as a campaign advisor to an Indian parliamentarian and also volunteered on Michael Bloomberg’s first mayoral campaign in New York City. As a trustee of The Loomba Foundation, Harjiv supports the cause of widows in South Asia and Africa. He also serves on the advisory board of India Knowledge@Wharton and has been a guest faculty member at DukeCE.

Harjiv earned his Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from the New York Institute of Technology. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu, and has basic fluency in German. He divides his time between New York, London and New Delhi.
