Jiqi Yang

Senior Consultant, EY

China

Jiqi is originally from China and has lived in Canada for seven years. After graduating from University of Alberta with a BA of Commerce, Jiqi spent two years in Shell as a business analyst and currently works at EY Advisory as a consultant.

Since her involvement in Students in Free Enterprise at university, Jiqi has been fascinated by the idea of empowering people by providing training/skills, not financial aid. Later, Jiqi co-founded Maple Dream Class, a social enterprise to empower new immigrants to reach their full potential through online and offline workshops on networking training. MDClass has influenced over 6000 students with 40+ workshops and two career bootcamps, and was featured on Calgary Herald in 2015.

Jiqi joined Harvard SEED, providing business consultancy to grassroots organizations in China, and  several other initiatives; offering business support to Goatsong, a theater education program for young people in China, and Tais Academy, an organization educating young entrepreneurs in rural China.

Jiqi spends most of her free time in exploring possible combinations of social impact and business, and her dream is to bring changes to the world through developing and advocating social enterprises.
