Dr. Nicole Chávez

Administrator for the USA National Training Center, Project GLAD® at the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE)


Nicole Chávez is the Administrator for the USA National Training Center, Project GLAD® at the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), where she oversees the implementation and strategic development of Project GLAD® National/International Training Centers, supporting Integrated and Designated Language Development, the integration of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), Social Emotional Learning and Universal Design for Learning. Nicole is a contributing member of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion workgroup at OCDE and co-leads the Multilingual California Project (MCAP). Nicole is President of International Language Instruction and Acquisition Development (ILIAD), LLC, an educational consulting corporation. Nicole holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California (USC) in Global Education, with her dissertation on Leading Instructional Shifts in Emergent Bilingual Education. Nicole also holds an Administrative Credential and MA in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton, and a Liberal Arts degree with an emphasis in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University, and has since supplemented her training and administrative skills with classes and certifications in Business Administration and Educational Psychology.
