Dr. Valerie Kinloch is Professor and Renée and Richard Goldman Dean of the University of Pittsburgh School of Education. During her tenure, she has strengthened the school’s commitment to equity, justice, and innovation by focusing on teaching, research, community engagement, academic programs, student success, and alumni involvement. Dean Kinloch is President-Elect[1]  of the National Council of Teachers of English and Program Chair for its 2021 convention. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), a Fellow of the American Council on Education (ACE), an elected member of the Board of Trustees of her undergraduate alma mater (Johnson C. Smith University), and Co-Chair of Remake Learning. The author of numerous books and publications, her most recent book, co-authored with Drs. Emily Nemeth, Tamara Butler, and Grace Player, is Where is the Justice? Engaged Pedagogies in Schools and Communities (Teachers College Press, 2021).
