Letizia Moratti was the first woman President of RAI-Radio Televisione Italiana and later became the Italian Minister for Education in 2001. Her long commitment in the social field, against marginalization and drug addiction has been recognized by the UN in 2000, when she was appointed Civic Ambassador against Drug and Crime. Ms. Moratti has supported the community of San Patrignano since its foundation in 1978. San Patrignano’s program is free of charge for the young people in rehabilitation and their families and without state funding.
