Botswana

Mothusi is a mover and a shaker who has always had the passion to help disadvantaged community members. Throughout his studies at the University of Botswana, he volunteered with different departments raising awareness on positive campus lifestyles and healthy living. He has served as a volunteer peer educator where he has been involved in teaching young people financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills in various government schools as a way of promoting self-reliance and providing a catalyst to poverty eradication. Mothusi received a Botswana National Award known as the Vision 2016 award recognizing his efforts in promoting financial literacy in Botswana in 2012.

As an agent of change, he represented University of Botswana as a presenter at several student conferences like ‘Imagined Future Leaders’ in Pretoria, South Africa, Gaborone, Botswana and Lusaka, Zambia. Mothusi represented Botswana in Accra, Ghana and Riga, Latvia with his students. He won the Riga Plaza Best Marketing award. He was nominated as Botswana’s first ever Young Ambassador of the Youth Olympic Games and later served as one of two African panelists in the jury of the Youth Olympic Games medal design competition. He is also providing mentorship to university students through the ‘Living and Learning Communities’ program at the University of Botswana. Mothusi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, a Post Graduate Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management, a Certificate in Project Management and is currently studying CIPS professional qualification and is starting an MBA program.
