Founder, Educate Girls
A London School of Economics graduate, Safeena has always been a passionate advocate for gender equality.
She is the founder of Educate Girls, a non-profit that strives for girls’ education in some of the country’s remotest, hardest-to-reach villages, thereby giving them an equal opportunity to access quality education and succeed in life. The organization has enrolled over 380,000 out of school girls to date, impacting over 6.7 million beneficiaries.
Safeena’s vision to deliver quality to the last child in the program led Educate Girls to initiate the world’s first Development Impact Bond (DIB) in education. Her efforts to bridge the gender gap in education in India have been globally recognized.
