Play: Rethinking the Design of Teaching and Learning

Teaching and learning practices are transforming through an approach integrating traditional and 21st-century literacies with core principles of game design and play. Quest to Learn, a public middle school in New York, has become a vital research and development platform for such innovative curriculum and teaching practices. At WISE 2013, Katie Salen from the Institute of Play shared the discoveries and lessons of the school.
