About the Project
The Project GOAPOS [Great Astronomical Observatory of the Pacific of Solar Optics] provides educational opportunities for underprivileged students in the field of science and technology. Through the Solar Observatory for Aerospace Science, the project involves poor young Colombians in interactive sessions that aim to improve their cognitive skills and increase their interest in science-related careers.
Today, one of the main activities is the course on Solar Astronomy for poor school-age learners. The project is part of FUPACTECNO (Foundation of Pacific for Advancement of Science and Technology), an organization composed of engineers and scientists, all working to reduce inequality and poverty through education and science.
