Brigitte Ederer

Born in Austria in 1956, Brigitte Ederer has been a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG – Europe’s largest electronics and electrical engineering company – since 2010. In addition to serving as Head of Corporate Human Resources and Labor Director, Ederer also has special responsibility for Europe and the C.I.S. (Commonwealth of Independent States).
A member of Austria’s Parliament from 1990 to 1992, Ederer was the country’s Minister of State for European Integration and Development Cooperation from 1992 to1994 and its Minister of State for European Affairs from 1994 to 1995. In October 1995, she became Secretary General of the Social Democratic Party of Austria and was again elected to the Austrian Parliament. In 1997, Ederer became Executive City Councilor for Finance, Economic Affairs and Vienna Public Enterprises of the City of Vienna. Upon joining Siemens Austria in 2001, Ederer was appointed to the Managing Board, where she served as Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to 2010.
In addition, Ederer is a member of the Supervisory Board of Jenoptik AG.
Ederer received her degree from the University of Vienna.
