Chetan Sharma is the Founder of Datamation, India’s leading knowledge management firm of 23 years’ reputation. He also heads the Datamation Foundation Trust (a non-profit organization). He has consistently advocated, designed and implemented innovative non-formal education models targeted towards neo-literate, semi-literate poor and marginalized communities, especially young girls and women. The technology-enabled, teaching-learning, self-paced, interactive models for adult literacy and vocational and technical skills impartation have been replicated successfully at many sites in India and abroad with the active engagement of the development agencies.

Chetan Sharma has been an active international researcher in diverse education areas. He has various publications to his credit on Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and ICTs for the accomplishment of Universal Elementary Education (UEE) and now the Right to Information (RTE). He has handled international monitoring and evaluation projects in education, healthcare and livelihoods in South Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa.

He is a Member of the National Apex Committee on E-Governance and a Member of the National Task Force. He has also been a member of India’s leading industry chamber, CII on Education. Chetan Sharma holds postgraduate degrees in Business Administration, Computer Applications and Social Work apart from Executive Development Programs at the Harvard Business School and Georgia Tech University, USA. He has been a regular speaker at various national and international seminars under the aegis of the Harvard Business School, Singapore National University, UNDP, UNESCAP, UNESCO and The World Bank.
